Why people start here

A gentle way back in

A coach beside you

Four one-to-one sessions. Your coach sets up each machine, watches every rep and starts you at the right weight.

Quiet and private

We keep membership numbers low, so there’s room to train and nobody’s on show.

A plan you’ll stick to

Built round your body, your week and your goals, with something simple to follow on your own.

What you get

Your month, and what’s in it

You’ll never be stuck or lost in the gym. Here’s how the month is set up.

  • Four one-to-one sessions, one a week. Sixty minutes with your coach, starting with a chat and a look round, then the movements at a weight that suits you.
  • A written programme. Every exercise, set and rep, built round your body, your week and your goals, so you know exactly what to do on your own.
  • Your own key code. Let yourself into the private gym and work through your plan, with no battling for equipment.
  • Food that fits your life. Practical help with eating well. No fad diets, no living on salads, no giving up your social life.
  • A last session to look back. What’s changed, how it felt, and a no-pressure chat about what comes next.

People who weren’t sure either

I’m lifting more than I ever thought I could imagine, I’m motivated by my PT and the gym itself is like a little gym family and I look forward to going.

I am 67 years old and have trained with Paul for over 13 years and it is no exaggeration to say that he has transformed my attitude to physical fitness, strength and mental well being.

All the staff are understanding and welcoming of all levels of fitness … After never being a “gym person” before I’d highly recommend joining here!!

Member story · As seen on ITV News West Country

“I’ve never regretted a workout”

Jemma had always struggled with her weight and had never enjoyed exercise. In November 2025 she and Paul were filmed at the gym for the NHS South West “Stay Active” campaign.

I wanted to enjoy exercise because I’ve never done that and I can honestly say that I do. I’ve never regretted a workout and you always feel better afterwards.

Her advice to anyone nervous, from ITV News West Country: “Everybody goes to an exercise class for the first time at some point. It’s the one thing you can do for yourself that nobody else can do.”

A note from Paul

Hi, I’m Paul

I started Be:Unique, and I’ve been coaching for more than fifteen years. A lot of the people I train are fitting it round work, family and a body that isn’t twenty any more.

If it’s been years since you last trained, the hardest part is usually walking in that first time. After a session or two, it starts to feel like your place. I’d love to help you get there.

And if you’re feeling a bit nervous, that’s completely normal. Everyone is at first. We’ve got you.

Paul

P.S. I keep membership small so everyone gets looked after, which means I only start a few new people at a time. If you’d like one of those places, the two quick questions are just below.
